Welcome!
Travel tales and sea stories by Georgs Kolesnikovs, criss-crossing Canada with the love of his life and their trusty Subaru Outback—generally tent camping, almost always eating well.
I’ve been truly blessed in my life. I’ve sailed around Cape Horn in record time, run marathons and ultramarathons in the Arctic, studied classical ballet, ridden a Harley-Davidson from Key West to Anchorage, launched several magazines, produced special events and festivals in Canada and the U.S., and spent most of my working years as a journalist. Finally retired, sort of, I’m getting ready to camp across Canada with the love of my life and our trusty Subaru Outback. By camping we mean tenting. And exploring. And eating well.
The image shows Desolation Sound in British Columbia, with Prideaux Haven in the foreground, the most memorable anchorage during our charter from Bellingham, Washington, to Ketchikan, Alaska, aboard Explorer, a Malahide trawler yacht.
